Spring 09 Update and Kitchen Gardening

Welcome back Slow Foodies,

Get ready for a semester filled with lots of good food!

Our first meeting will be Monday, February 2 at 7:30 pm in the Fuller Building. Mark your calendars! At this meeting we will talk about the meaning of Slow Food and plans for the semester.

This semester we plan to have potluck meetings twice a month on Mondays in the Fuller Building (808 Comm. Ave.) at 7:30 pm! Room #, 117 (look for signs!). And for more information and other events, see our lovely new calendar on the right!

If you've already got the itch to start getting involved with sustainable food on campus, SFBU will be meeting with Sustainability Coordinator for Aramark, Kelly Dunn, this Friday, January 23, at 8:30 am at Espresso Royale (736 Comm. Ave). Feel free to join us!

And if you're concerned about eating locally, what's better than growing your own food?

Sproutman Steve Meyerowitz will hold a FREE seminar at Grasshopper's for the Boston Vegetarian Society. Learn how to grow greens in your own kitchen! See the map for how to get to Grasshopper's- a Chinese, all-vegan restaurant that's located in Allston.

The BVS will also hold a social, vegan buffet dinner afterwards at Grasshopper's at 5:15 pm, and it will be only $9.50 including tax and tip! See BVS's calendar for more details.

NOTE: because of the snow, the seminar will be moved to Sunday, FEBRUARY 22nd at 3 pm! However, Grasshopper will still hold their buffet on Sunday, January 18.

If you can't make the seminar, how about checking out Kitchen Gardeners International.

Enjoy!
